I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 1992 after 2 LAPS 3 IVF cycles I became pregnant with my daughter in 2005. I had some embryos left so in 2007 I had them implanted, I became pregnant, and at 15 weeks I suffered a miscarriage. For many years I had lots of pain but just recently I started having fatigue extreme bloating and lots of constipation.

I started searching the internet for websites on Endo when I came across NY Endometriosis Center with Dr. Kanayama, after reading about him and the testimonials I called the office and the first person I was lucky enough to speak to was his office manager Sabrina who is truly a gem. She was very sympathetic to my situation she even asked if I wanted to speak to Dr. Kanayama. I was taken back because doctors usually do not speak to you unless you are their patient and even then it’s hard to get them to talk to you. After speaking to him I knew God had answered my prayers, one thing that he told me that I had never heard before was that if you have Endo you should not have IVF because of all the hormones involved, unless you have a Laparoscopy to clean yourself out to avoid having miscarriages and have a better success rate, but usually his patients do not need to have IVF after having surgery because they are able to conceive on their own. I was really surprised especially since I had 3 cycles but I would not have changed anything in my life because I was blessed with my miracle child, and now I have been blessed with Dr. Kanayama.

I scheduled an appointment right away. At my first visit I had a pelvic, sono and labs done. He was then able to tell me I had severe Endo and I needed surgery ASAP. I had my surgery January 31, 2008. He was absolutely right I had stage 4 Endometriosis. I had it all around my bladder, colon, uterus and fallopian tubes. I'm one week post-op, so I'm still healing. The surgery went well no scars whatsoever, very tiny little incisions nothing like my other surgeries. Dr. Kanayama is truly a blessing. I owe him my life. If there is anyone out there suffering from this disease he is the person that will change your life forever.
