I had suffered from endometriosis for 18 years. I had two past laparoscopies both were unsuccessful. In my short life of 34 years I have seen so many doctors, I could not keep track. In 2006, about a year after my daughter was born, my pain came back with a vengeance. I had pain all month long to the point where it was hard to work, function and most important raise my daughter. I was tired of doctors not giving me answers. I called the Endometriosis Foundation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and asked for a referral to an endometriosis specialist. She asked where I lived, when I said New Jersey without hesitation she told me about Dr. Kanayama. When I called his office his secretary took all my information and told me he would be contacting me. My phone rang less than an hour later. I was shocked. I never spoke to a doctor on the phone before. I told him my story and he gave me an appointment that week. Dr. Kanayama performed two surgeries to remove a mass of adenomyosis in the wall of my uterus. I do not believe another doctor would have fount this mass. Dr. Kanayama did not give up on me. He told me he would not stop until he found the reason for all my pain. He is the most compassionate, caring and understanding doctor I have ever met. The day before my second surgery I called the office and told Sabrina how nervous I was. She put Dr. Kanayama right on the phone and he eased my nerves. Now here we are one year after my surgery and yes I am pain free. I have also just found out I am pregnant. Words cannot express all you have done for my family and I. thank you Dr. Kanayama, you have answered my prayers.
