I truly believe that Dr. Kanayama’s hands are an instrument God uses to touch women’s lives.  There is no other way to describe it.  My case was one of the most severe cases of endometriosis ever seen. I suffered from painful periods for almost 15 years without suspecting I had endometriosis.  Two years ago, I went from having my usual painful period to a state of chronic pain that persisted 24/7 continuously, even after my period ended.  I started taking pain killers around the clock. After being misdiagnosed twice, it turnout I had bilateral ovarian endometriomas (chocolate cysts).  I had my first surgery on May of last year. It was a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery), and it did not solve my endometriosis.  In fact, the surgeon told me she had only removed the cysts because I was so invaded by endometriosis that it was too dangerous to attempt removing it.  According to this doctor, not only did I have stage IV endometriosis, but my anatomy was compromised.  My colon was semi-obstructed by endometriosis growing in and out of my pelvis, and all my reproductive organs were stuck together covered by endometriosis in such way that they were undistinguishable from one another.  Even after the surgery, my pain kept getting worst to the point pain killers were not enough.  I started taking narcotics.

I was on several hormonal treatments, but none of them worked. I kept on deteriorating more.  I did not longer have a normal life.  I went to several doctors, but as soon as they would read the report of my first surgery, they would refuse to do a laparoscopic procedure.  Some doctors could not even give me a prognosis.  I felt hopeless and depressed.

In the middle of my desperation, while searching the internet for possible solutions, I came across this website and started reading the testimonial of other patients.  The next day, I called Dr. Kanayama’s office and to my surprise I was schedule for an appointment almost immediately.  At the moment I met Dr. Kanayama, I knew he was the one God had put in my way to end my suffering.  His professionalism, expertise and compassion stood out instantly.  He kindly spent one hour answering all my questions.  The quality of care I received from his staff was also very impressive.  Once I decided to have surgery with Dr. Kanayama, Sabrina, his secretary, kindly took care of all the insurance paperwork.

My surgery was on January of this year.  I never thought I would think this way about surgery, but it was really a pleasant experience.  The staff at Greenwich Hospital was very kind and welcoming.  They really took good care of me and my family. During surgery, Dr. Kanayama removed 80% of my endometriosis, a large ovarian endometrioma, and some fibroids I was not even aware of.  He also cleared my tubes (so that I could be fertile again), returned my uterus to its normal position, and technically saved my kidneys by removing the endometriosis from my urethra.  In a few words, he restructured my entire reproductive anatomy. Moreover, he was able to accomplish this in only 3 hours after I was expected to remain at the OR for at least 4 hours.

Since the moment I woke up from the anesthesia, I have not experienced pain like before. By first time in many years, I have been pain free. It has been 8 weeks since my surgery and I feel like a brand new person.  I went back to my job and recovered my normal life in so little time that it can only be explained by a miracle.

If you happen to read this testimonial while looking for hope, like I did once, have no doubts that Dr. Kanayama can work wonders in your life like he did in mine.  I highly recommend any women suffering from this disease to seek treatment with Dr. Kanayama. Regardless of how bad your case might be, it is always possible to find a solution when you are in the right hands.
