March 14, 2008 After all the years I have suffered with endo, it is still hard for me to believe that I found Dr. Kanayama. It is well worth the 4-hour drive to get to his office. My endo came back with a vengeance in December 2007. After multiple appointments with my regular gyn, I was told everything was fine. At the time, I was told everything was fine. At the time, I was unable to work and existing on pain killers. Frustration drove me to the internet and while searching, Dr. Kanayama's name kept popping up. On his website I read testimonials of other women and their stories were just like mine. I took a leap of faith and called Dr. Kanayama's office. Sabrina answered the phone, talked to me about my situation, and made me an appointment the next week. My appointment with Dr. Kanayama was the most thorough, gentle, and informative I have ever had. He explained to me why the pain was occurring where it was and that he thought that my endo was at least stage III. My regular gyn always told me it was just mild, and that was after five laparoscopic laser surgeries, two rounds of Lupron, and taking birth control pills back to back. Dr. Kanayama explained the type of surgery he does and why it is so successful. I decided to have the surgery and Dr. Kanayama operated the following week. After surgery he explained that the endo had affected my bowels, was closing off my urethra tube, and scar tissue from past laser surgeries was connecting my internal organs together. My surgical experience at Greenwich Hospital was by far the best hospital experience I have ever had. I was put at ease the minute I walked in the door and I left feeling assured that my surgery was successful. I am now almost 2 months post op. I am back to work and feeling great. I am still dealing with some twinges of pain, but I am still recovering and look forward to being 100% really soon. My experience with Dr. Kanayama, his staff, and the hospital staff has been beyond belief. When I have called with questions about insurance or billing, Sabrina is very helpful and caring. If I have questions for Dr. Kanayama, he always takes the time to talk to me on the phone. Thank you Dr. Kanayama for giving me my life back, I look forward to this summer and enjoying camping and hiking with my family. Tina C. |
