I am so grateful to be a patient of Dr. Kanayama. For years I struggled to find answers to my pain. This past year I saw 5 different doctors who did not believe my symptoms. One of them even suggested I was a hypochondriac.

I came in to see Dr. Kanayama after a friend suggested I see a few NYC based doctors that specialized in endometriosis. The day I called Dr. Kanayama's office, Sabrina (his wonderful secretary) quickly gave me an appointment for the next week. I was at ease once I had this appointment done.

The day I had my first appointment I was seen very quickly. Dr. Kanayama and his nurse were very thorough during my visit. During my pelvic exam Dr. Kanayama immediately found I had excess tissue in my uterus and that it was severely inverted. He said the cause was endometriosis. I was relieved to know he found the source of my pain. Of course, I was frightened though Dr. Kanayama's positive attitude calmed me.

Once we decided on a date for surgery Dr. Kanayama informed me that in his patients there was a low recurrence of endo after surgery. Two weeks passed and I had my laparoscopy. Turned out I had stage 3 endo with a polyp in my uterus as well. Dr. Kanayama not only eliminated all my endometriosis and my polyp, but he also took care of my uterus, which had been severely inverted due to the condition. After surgery I felt fine and two days later, I was fine to walk slowly.

It has been almost two months since my surgery. Dr. Kanayama has not only rid me of endometriosis but has somehow given me my life back. I have more energy and am pain free. I can say that Dr. Kanayama places his patients first, which is a blessing. I owe him and his staff a great debt of gratitude.
