November 2, 2009 Dr. Kanayama gave me hope. I'm 21 years old and was in pain for 7 years. My pain started when I was 14 and I was put on birth control. The pain always continued even after trying 8 different birth control pills and many different pain medications. I wasn't diagnosed with endometriosis until I was 18. Before then, no doctor would listen to me until they actually saw the skin tissue coming out during menstruation. I had 3 laparoscopies when I was 18 and each time the endo spread even more. I went from stage 1 to 4 in 8 months. How confusing is that? I was 18 and my doctor told me that I should get pregnant because it was spreading fast and I was going infertile. All that I have ever wanted was to be a mother and the thought of that never coming to pass was my worst nightmare. Until.................... I found Dr. Kanayama last year. If you are looking for answers, he is your guy. He explained that the reason it was spreading was because of the laser. He explained how he would be able to go in and cut this disease from the root because it was literally drilling into my organs. Dr. Kanayama can see the endometriosis from a sonogram. He is absolutely amazing and I truly believe that he saved me. After so many years of pain and surgeries I was in such a deep depression. Upon my first visit with him my mental state actually improved. He performed surgery on me in May of 2009. I have been pain free since then. Everyone at the hospital was so nice. They answered all of my questions. They explained to me how Dr. Kanayama takes his time and that they've seen him work on a patient for over 6 hours just to make sure everything is out. He showed me the pictures from my surgery and this disease was everywhere, even in my back. Finally I had an explanation for the back problems and the bathroom problems. Also, I had this weird symptom where my calves would hurt so bad the week before my period to the point where I couldn't sleep and now it's gone. The headaches are gone and the fatigue has improved greatly. My experience with Dr. Kanayama has been a blessing. Sabrina is truly an amazing woman that works in his office. She answered all of my questions and never had a problem helping me. I called her for so many things and she was so caring and understanding. Sabrina submitted all of my paperwork to my health insurance and was able to get everything fully paid for. I can't begin to express how grateful I truly am for everything, If you have endometriosis, then you know what it is like to be completely lost/confused. The pain is horrible and no one ever understands. Dr. Kanayama understands every worry no matter your age or what stage, he takes you seriously. You can tell just by meeting with him, that he can make things better and that he is genuine and one of a kind. Roxanne P. |
